Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa (subclass 186):

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) results in a permanent visa for the sponsored employee. It is a common way for 457 visa holders to qualify for permanent residence, but has a higher skill level than the 457 visa.

ENS visa involves major two steps. Initially; it is nomination by an approved Australian employer, and, secondly, an application under the nomination steam. The nomination stream can be any of following:

  • The Temporary Residence Transition Steam
  • The Direct Entry Stream
  • The Agreement Stream

This visa is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers who want to work in regional Australia. It allows you to work in Australia under one of three streams:

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa (subclass 187)

The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa (subclass 187) is for skilled workers who want to work in regional Australia. This visa involves a two-step process, firstly, nomination by an approved Australian employer and then an application under the nominated stream. It is part of the Permanent Employer Sponsored Visa program.

You can apply for this visa only after you have been nominated by an employer in regional Australia.
